I don't know... I haven't tried pate yet. I did sneak liver into chili once and we couldn't tell. But pate, I just don't know... Good for your 3-year old!

Steph, I think you're on to something: I think it really helps to start young (we had a friend here the other night who liked it, and she too grew up eating fried livers). You should try it -- she said it's better than fried ones. Tim and I have unfortunately not taken to it; Tim decided this after looking at it, whereas I actually tasted it. It was delicious until that lingering aftertaste, which I have a hard time getting past.

But guess who's been eating it up? The 3-year old, Mr. I-Hate-Butternut-Squash. Am I living in a bizarro world?

Kimi, I did freeze 2/3 portions. I'm glad that the two youngest in our family are enjoying it; I know I'll have at least two mouths to feed with one block, and my sister-in-law (who grew up in Ireland) has dibs on the second.

Maybe someday my tastebuds will mature? I can only hope.

Call me weird, but I actually remember liking chicken-fried liver when I was younger. I think mom must have fried it, because I haven't had any in a while. However, eating something that looks like cat food sounds, um, totally unappetizing. I can't wait to see how it goes! Eat up, Katy!

Oh, this post cracked me up! But does it help to let you know that I feel your pain? I never ever ate liver before, and usually don't like it that well. But pate is starting to warm me to it. :-) I recommend freezing two thirds of it and only have only out to try. We don't eat it all at once.
